“Kulzak,” Enki slumped down on the wood floor next to him. “Please explain something to me.”
“Hm?” He looked up from the map.
“Why would anyone choose to live in this damn furnace you call the equator!?” Enki shouted. He understood many things. People, such as Kulzak, who lived in any climate hotter than northern Ru’aun, were not one of them.

“Enki! Your people are fucking stupid!” Enki heard Kulzak call out to him from the floor below.
“…excuse me!?” He called back.
“No one in their right mind builds a civilization in a place like this!”
And Enki saw, as he descended the staircase, a Kulzak-shaped bundle of heavy clothes and dark hair poking out, lying lazily in front of the fire. “Ah, so you’re complaining about my homeland’s climate now, I see?” He remarked.
“It’s my turn.” Kulzak mumbled.
