Summary
It was dead heat, the ambient noise rushing over me as chaos which was so constant in my life turned to a dull buzz. My eyes met the pitchers as he threw the ball again.A one in a million chance of bad luck. The yelling from the dugout made me react just a touch too slow, I swung my bat as Kyle and Cartman screamed and tried to hit. It knocked back against my bat with force as the baseball smacked me hard directly in the chest.Dull buzzing in my head, I was suddenly hyper aware of my heartbeat. Things slowed down as the crowd kept repeating something. Like I forgot how to speak English. What did they want me to do? Run? I took a step forward then another, my whole body slow. That sun was burning my arms and face but some other feeling overcame me. A horrible dread as I felt my oxygen cut off, my body slow, my blood thicken. I looked down to see myself going up to the sun. The buzz of the crowd gone, the fighting in the background gone, the pain of sunburn gone.I was at peace.(Whumptober 2023)
