Summary
In the early 1800s, Puritanism had long died out, and was for the most part replaced by the Congregational Church. In a small town in Maryland, USA, however, there lived a family stuck in the puritan ways by family tradition-- a married couple and their son, David. Being dragged to church every Sunday was a bore to put it lightly. David desperately wanted to be enthusiastic and devoted to God like his parents, but he had so many questions that were shut down with, "never question God." On June 28, 1807, he meets a man who changes his life forever and introduces him to something new, something taboo, something egregious-- the world of magic and witchcraft.
