Finally, Steven checks his phone. Plenty of missed calls from Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst. Pearl has sent some polite yet concerned text messages asking where he is. Amethyst has tried to send sad stickers and emojis which are kind of humorous, even if also worried. Garnet has sent a picture of Cat Steven lying on his hot dog bag. Basically saying Cat Steven misses him. It’s supposed to be cute, but it only overwhelms Steven.That’s the issue. All of their attempts are making him want to stay gone. He feels awful for it. Steven knows he’s just making them worried. But they wouldn’t understand.
