Summary
Alec has a massive fucking problem. Technically he has a lot of problems, including but not limited to: the slump he’s right in the middle of; the nickname “Raffy,” which was funny when it was just the guys kidding him but is getting to be a bit much with announcers using it during regional broadcasts; and the leak in the front room that Vaughn is refusing to handle for him because supposedly he needs to learn to be a responsible homeowner. But the problem that’s taking up a disproportionate amount of his mental energy is that Marsh isn’t coming to London. Alec has always been self-contained—friendly, he hopes, a decent enough fit in any dugout, but unquestionably a loner. So it’s a little unnerving how easily Marsh slotted into his life and how off-balance he feels at the prospect of a few days without him.
