have you settled into

Aelwyn didn’t recall meeting this particular person before, though she’d seen her puttering around in the community garden, excitedly checking on purple stalks that Identify later told her was half-grown amaranth. She’s a human woman (granted, that’s more of a given here; the number of non-humans who live in Pelican Town could be counted on one hand with room to spare), soft and stout in a gracefully-aging sort of way, with brown hair typically swept into a loose braid that swung over one shoulder. Today, she’s wearing a knit green sweater that’s been darned in a sky blue yarn where moths have eaten away at the wool, brown corduroys, and sensible farmer’s boots. Most notably, she’s holding a surprisingly rotund creature with ginger fur, a cream-colored belly, and round green eyes that blink with both a devious craftiness and an utter blank stupidity.
