Summary
Ja’Marr is absorbed with his roux, carefully and slowly stirring so nothing burns. Joe watches the receiver. He’s got this strong stature, some kind of loudness and brightness about his aura. But here in this kitchen, he’s almost delicate. No, maybe not delicate. But very soft and intentional with his movements. Paired with the Lauryn Hill behind him (You’re just too good to be true, can’t take my eyes off of you), it feels domestic. Joe can almost imagine himself coming home to this every Monday evening, walking up behind Ja’Marr and encircling his waist with his hands as the receiver makes some of his comfort foods.
