the Witch, the Scholar, and the Spirit: Chapter 4 - The Measure of a Man… and a Woman

Willow and Johnny each undergo the "best friend inspection thing" at the econ lounge, and Johnny's horrifying vision becomes more detailed.This is chapter 4 of the romance/action novel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: the Witch, the Scholar, and the Spirit set in Season 4. In chapters 1 through 3, Willow and econ grad student Johnny met in "Intro Psych" and went on a date at the Espresso Pump. As they kissed, they experienced a strong sense of déjà vu as a strange breeze with a hint of jasmine circled them.Concerned things were going too fast, Johnny revealed his older age and divorced status. Soon after, Willow revealed she was a witch... and Johnny oddly took this in stride. As their connection deepened and they both suprisingly professed their love for each other, Johnny suddenly saw a vision of a dark-eyed Willow flaying a man. Willow assured him she'd never do anything like that and that she's careful about her magic, but Johnny warned that being careful may not be enough because power inherently corrupts.They theorized it was a warning from the future, and he promised to stay by her side to help her fight that future. He then walked Willow to her dorm and gave her a parting kiss.
