Summary
Rue Morte has stayed in line for years. She follows the rules of Sable, her mentor. No speaking on the job. No being noticed. And no authorities. That's how it's been for years.
But one day, the delicate balance that Rue has worked so hard to maintain-- crumbles-- when she's noticed by a girl her age, She escapes, but not unscathed. She tries to brush it off. No one would believe the girl who'd just so happened to catch her. After all, no one listens to girls her age. Things will be just fine. Things will blow over, right?
Little does she realize, her little show has made bigger waves then she knows.
Glace Arctique was already not having it. Her father is a bigot that refuses to let her take over the family power, not that she wanted to. Her mother stays locked in her room all day, never trying to defend her. And then, her youngest brother-- light of her life Friod-- tragically dies, leaving nothing but hatred and resentment where a soft spot once lingered.
She refuses to let anyone else go to the funeral. After all-- no one but her was good to Friod. But when her brother's memory is disrespected by some manic breaking into the funeral home, Glace finally snapped.
This means war.
