A Quest for the Darkness

Steven's status as a human-gem hybrid finally comes in handy, and we get to see more of the Diamonds. This is a mystery-adventure story where we meet a new alien race perfectly suited to ruin the Gem Empire's day, and Steven's self-worth is directly attached to how helpful he's being. This fic takes place before the movie and the sequel series. The Diamonds did not step down as supreme rulers; they just changed the way they do things. Steven has Diamond status, and their colonies are not liberated, they've just stopped conquering new ones.
