Summary
Dean stopped talking after the fire. He’d taken to hiding behind his father when people would ask him how he was doing; leaving John to explain that he’d be fine kids are resilient. The boy had watched his mother die, who knew how long it took to recover from that kind of trauma. Dean started to point at things when he wanted them: juice, a toy that was too high up to reach, Sam on occasion. John understood to some degree, Dean was only four; he didn’t have to words to talk about what he’d seen. So he just stopped talking.
