Canned Soup and Strawberry Cake

Aerith had guessed Xigbar was hiding…if not a heart of gold, then at least a heart. She should’ve realized he was hiding it for a reason.

Lamia has only ever told his friend Aerith that Xigbar is an asshole. She suspects, however, that Lamia’s relationship with his roommate and combat partner is deeper than he lets on. So when Aerith finds out that not only is Lamia sick, but Xigbar is making soup for him, she obviously has to invite herself over. Now that she gets to meet Xigbar face to face, she finds that there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him—and, perhaps, a lot he doesn’t know about himself.

Set in the cyberpunk AU I’m developing for my fic project Gunmetal Blues, featuring my OC Lamia. I’ve (hopefully) written it so that you don’t need to know anything about the AU to enjoy it.
