Bows and ribbons

“Pansy told me they’re childish.”Daphne crumples the two enormous green bows in her hands. For the first time she isn’t wearing her hair in pigtails; instead, it falls in a wave down her back.“Pansy should mind her own business. I like them,” replies Neville. She shrugs, but doesn’t look at him. She throws the bows on the ground, under the hedge.“It’s time to grow up, that’s fine.”Not that it’s not fine.Neville can’t put it into words, so when she leaves, he simply picks up the bows and keeps them.
