Erik detests talking on the phone in general; texting even more so. Small talk is a waste of time and emoticons are just an exercise on his patience. Not to mention the lack of punctuation, grammatical inaccuracies or the horrendous short-hands the lesser public indulge in, manage to get on every nerve ending in his system. Irrespective of the mode or the person on the other end, his replies are always monosyllabic, succinct and to the point.
